Alleviating cold symptoms with Ginger tea

Unfortunately, there is not cure for the common cold. Nonetheless a simple an helthy Ginger tea can help mitigating some of his unpleasant symptoms like coughing, stuffy nose or the pain in the throat. Although the tea can be done with Ginger exclusively, I recommend adding cloves, Cinnamon, Turmeric and lemon. This will improve the flavor and enhance the decongestion and expectorant effects (phlem and mucus removal). ### Frequency The suggested servings are 3 tea cups a day. ### Ingredients These are the ingredients for one day servings (3 cups) - 100 grams of Ginger (If clean, no need to peel it) - 1 Cinnamon stick - half lemon juice - 1/4 tea spon of cloves - 1/2 tea spon of Turmeric - 3 cups of water ### How to make the tea 1. Add the 3 cups of water to a pot along with the Ginger, Cinnamon, cloves and Turmeric. 2. Bring to boild. 3. Once is boiling let it simmer for about 10 minutes. 4. Serve the tea. Pour the spare tea into a jug, and keep it in the fridge until next use. Although drinking it cold is totally fine, it is recommended to take it warm to increase the efficacy against the cold. For a sweeter taste try adding 1/2 tea spoon of honey to each cup.
